About Us

Are you looking for a family friendly RV Park and Campground near historic Keokuk, Iowa and the surrounding area?

Hickory Haven RV Park and Campground sits on 27 acres of heavily shaded ground, ½ mile off state highway 61/218, just north of Keokuk Iowa.

The developed property, includes 53, level drive thru or back in sites with full hook-up (water, electric and sewer) with 30 and 50 amp metered electrical. In addition there are a large number of sites for tent camping, with fire pits and 20 amp electric.

The campground offers many amenities: clean showers and restrooms, a laundry room, a playground for small children, hiking trails, fishing pond and a lighted pavilion with grill and refrigerator.

Our Story

Hickory Haven Campground is a well-established and welcoming destination located in Keokuk, Iowa. Our story began many years ago when the Johnson family, avid nature enthusiasts and experienced campground owners, decided to create a tranquil and family-friendly retreat in the heart of Keokuk.

In 1995, Hickory Haven Campground opened its gates with the aim of providing a peaceful and enjoyable camping experience for all visitors. The Johnsons' love for the outdoors inspired them to create a campground that would not only showcase the natural beauty of the area but also provide top-notch amenities and services.

Situated in the picturesque city of Keokuk, our campground offers a serene and inviting setting, surrounded by pristine landscapes and breathtaking views. We take pride in offering a range of camping options, including spacious RV sites, cozy tent spaces, and comfortable cabins, to accommodate various preferences and needs.

Great stay in the Hickory Campground! John was great. He met us at our site as we arrived after dark. He was always available as we had lots of questions about the area. We stayed at a tent site and really enjoyed the campground. John greeted us and raked the acorns off the ground where our tent went. Our kids loved the playground. The restrooms were kept very clean and the campground was very quiet. The only drawback is that the tent sites aren't very secluded from the campers and the drive paths. It was so quiet though when we were there (early October) that it didn't matter.

Great experience! I arrived after dark and the owner John got us in no problem. He even helped us get a stubborn fire started for an hour and helped us with the tent in the dark. Very nice guy, he was nice to my kids too who bugged him the whole time lol. We will be back.
