About Us

Are you looking for a family friendly RV Park and Campground near historic Keokuk, Iowa and the surrounding area?

Hickory Haven RV Park and Campground sits on 27 acres of heavily shaded ground, ½ mile off state highway 61/218, just north of Keokuk Iowa.

The developed property, includes 53, level drive thru or back in sites with full hook-up (water, electric and sewer) with 30 and 50 amp metered electrical. In addition there are a large number of sites for tent camping, with fire pits and 20 amp electric.

The campground offers many amenities: clean showers and restrooms, a laundry room, a playground for small children, hiking trails, fishing pond and a lighted pavilion with grill and refrigerator.

Our Story

Hickory Haven Campground is a well-established and welcoming destination located in Keokuk, Iowa. Our story began many years ago when the Johnson family, avid nature enthusiasts and experienced campground owners, decided to create a tranquil and family-friendly retreat in the heart of Keokuk.

In 1995, Hickory Haven Campground opened its gates with the aim of providing a peaceful and enjoyable camping experience for all visitors. The Johnsons' love for the outdoors inspired them to create a campground that would not only showcase the natural beauty of the area but also provide top-notch amenities and services.

Situated in the picturesque city of Keokuk, our campground offers a serene and inviting setting, surrounded by pristine landscapes and breathtaking views. We take pride in offering a range of camping options, including spacious RV sites, cozy tent spaces, and comfortable cabins, to accommodate various preferences and needs.

We take great pride in the cleanliness of our restrooms and showers. We clean and sanitize them
throughout the day.

Our common amenities are available to all our guests. Whether you sleep in a 50’ Class A or a $29 pup tent from Walmart, you are our guest!

So your car or tow vehicle is an EV. Thank you, you are helping reduce carbon emissions. As of April, 2023 there are no known EV charging stations in Keokuk. Unfortunately, we do not have plug-in charge adapters on site but we do have NEMA 14-50 (50 amp / 240 volt) outlets throughout the park. So if you have your own adapter, we can accommodate you.

Just a few rules: DO NOT plug your EV into an outlet in your assigned RV site. This will overload the circuit, blow a breaker and possibly cause serious damage to your RV's electrical systems (converters, chargers, electronics and high draw appliances like your AC). Contact the office, and we will assign a temporary site with 50 amp service for charging (if available). You will be given a set time period to hook up and remove your vehicle. We meter your electric consumption and will bill you at the prevailing utility rate (the same price we pay) plus a $10 convenience fee.

Welcome to our backyard! We are John and Linda Peacher, resident owners and avid campers. We know what we like in a campground and we’ll do our best to provide it. First and foremost a safe and pleasant atmosphere. We have few rules but we do enforce our speed limit and a few other restrictions for the safety of our guests. Children are present. Please take a moment to read through the rules. You’ll be seeing a lot of us during your stay, but we’d also like to invite you to our “meet and greet”, every Friday afternoon. Get settled in, grab your favorite beverage and meet us and your fellow campers in the Pavillion anytime from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.
